Bersamina, Osena lead winners in 1st leg of National Youth Chess

MANILA – FIDE Master Paulo Bersamina and Alexis Anne Osena emerged as champions in the Boys Under-15 and Girls Under-15 as well Justine Diego Mordido and Maria Elayza Villa stamped their class in the Boys Under 9 and Girls Under 9 categories, respectively in the just ended 2013 National Youth Chess Championships Standard Competition-First leg on Sunday at the Philippine Sports Commission Conference Room, Administration Bldg., Vito Cruz, Manila here.

Also winning their respective categories were John Marvin Miciano (B-U13), Stephen Rome Pangilinan (B-U11), Shannon Mark Daniel Aguimbag (B-U10), Basil Joshua Apalla B-U8), Rizalyn Jasmine Tejada (G-U13), Shanaia Marie Aquino (G-U11),  and Precious Louise Oncita (G-U7).

The 3-day event organized by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) in close cooperation with the Philippine Sports Commission and Philippine Olympic Committee.
