Hongkong Open Chess: Nouri grabs solo second place; Spanish IM remains on top

FIDE MASTER Hamed Nouri of the Philippines beat FM Tsang Hon Ki of Hongkong to grabs solo second place in the sixth round of the  Hongkong International Open Chess Championships 2013 Monday at the Convocation Room, Main Building room 218, The University of Hongkong, Pok Fu Lam Road, Hongkong.

With the win, Nouri tallied 5.0 points, half point behind with overnight solo leader top seed International Master Marcos Llaneza Vega of Spain (5.5 points), who brought downed National Master Roel Abelgas of the Philippines. 

Abelgas, meantime remains at 4.5 points, the same output of FM Deniel Causo of the Philippines, Li Bo of China and Daniel Lam of Hongkong.

National Master Nelson Villanueva and Woman Fide Master Marie Antoinette San Diego of the Philippines joints 7th position with four points each while world youngest Fide Master 7-year-old Alekhine Nouri has 2.0 points.

The Filipino campaign in Hongkong are supported by Bayan Muna Party-list Rep. Neri Javier Colmenares, Senator Koko Pimentel, National Chess Federation of the Philippines, FEU Fern College of Quezon City, Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Olympic Committee.
